Race Night - Feb'26
by Paul Bonnet. Fri 20 FebWell we managed eventually to cobble together 8 volunteers in the upper side room for our mini tournament and kicked off with an introduction to Magical Athlete. Each player is dealt 4 different characters to chose from for a simple roll and move game over 4 heats with each character having a very different chaotic movement adjustment ability. Next was the tense (hot air) Balloon Race where we were all trying to get our secretly allocated 3 different coloured hot air balloons first over the finish line. We then split into two tables of 4 for a game of Snow Tails and then Flame Rouge (or vice versa). Ran out of time to race our chariots in Ave Caesar, so we finished off with another two heats over the Mild Mile and Wild Wilds courses with our remaining Magical Athletes. Good fun was had by all and points for games were allocated to the first three racers past the various posts with a few bonus points also being available in some of the games. Overall winner was Andy O (16), who despite his turn being regularly skipped for most of one of the MA heats, just pipped Andrew H and Tom both on 15 points. The next Peloton was led by myself (12) and Chris (11). Also rans included Kevin (9), David M (4) and Michel who still amassed 8 points despite missing out on the first two MA heats.
